(MENAFN) Iraq has set up a tender to purchase 30,000 tons of rice from any origin, Reuters cited an official source at the trade ministry.
Last date to accept offers is August 12 and offers must be valid through August 16, the source said.
Iraq is one of the world’s largest importers of rice, much of which goes to supply a massive national food rationing programme.
Iraq’s last reported tender was on July 16, when it bought 110,000 tons of rice from Thailand and Uruguay.
