(MENAFN) Iraq is set to be granted a total of about USD833 million as an emergency financial aid from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to help the ailed country in its fight against Daesh, Gulf News reported.
The finance will be signed under the Rapid Financing Instrument programme and is currently pending for a submission of approval from the IMF, which is, according to reports, more likely to occur.
“The armed conflict continues to strain the country’s resources and has created a humanitarian tragedy, with an estimated three million internally displaced people,” the IMF said in their statement.
