Japan, Saudi Arabia aim USD272m Oman utility projects

(MENAFN) Four consortiums are in the way for the USD272mn Salalah and Sharqiyah independent water projects (IWP).

Additionally, these include Saudi-based Acwa, Japanese group JGC Corp. and Spanish groups GS Inima and Tedagua.

Moreover, the scope of the projects involves design, construction, ownership, financing, operation and maintenance of high-efficiency desalination facilities.

Meanwhile, the Salalah project will be operational in the third quarter of 2019, while the Sharqiyah IWP will be ready in the second quarter of 2020.
