Japan to offer USD254mn grant to Jordan

(MENAFN) Jordan signed USD254mn grant deal with its Japanese counterpart in order to enhance the financial situation and support development policies to reform public services.

Accordingly, the deal was signed by Jordanian Minister of Planning and Intl’ Co-op and the Japanese Ambassador to Jordan.

Moreover, the loan is the third that supports the general budget in order to address challenges that face the kingdom due to the influx of Syrian refugees.

The kingdom has received assistance from Japan reaching USD1.021bn since 1999, USD491.2mn of which has been in the form of grants and the rest as soft loans.
