(MENAFN) According to the latest container ports’ rankings from both Containerization International (CI) and The Journal of Commerce (JOC), DP World’s Jebel Ali port, is the ninth-largest port in the world, Gulf News reported.
Jebel Ali is the only port outside the Far East to make it into the latest Top 10 list of the world’s largest ports, while seven of the other top 10 are in China, and the other two being Singapore, and Pusan, South Korea.
Jebel Ali has consistently maintained its Top Ten ranking since 1997 thanks to Dubai and the UAE’s position as the center for trade in the region.
“Jebel Ali port has supported and driven with constant investment in infrastructure to stay ahead of demand, and that is why we have maintained our position among the top ports in the world,” DP World said in a statement.
