(MENAFN) The increase in service and construction industries lowered Morocco’s official jobless rate to 9.4 percent in 2016 from 9.7 percent in 2015.

Meanwhile, services and construction made 38.000 and 36.000 jobs respectively, while manufacturing created 8.000 jobs.

Moreover, the government has been developing manufacturing in areas like car, aerospace and elects components to cut reliance on agriculture and make more jobs.

In addition, agriculture, this accounts for 15 percent of its GDP and employs more than half its workforce, lost almost 32.000 jobs in the cited year.
