(MENAFN) Dubai-based construction company Arabtec stated that the Jordanian government awarded a USD629 million contract to build the first phase of a tourism project in the country to a consortium led by the company, reported Arabian Business.
Arabtec also said that the contract included the construction of four international hotels including Jumeirah International and Starwood Hotels facilities, in addition to a water park.
The firm added that the project was called Saraya Aqaba and that the consortium included companies Arabtec, Dubai Drake and Scull and Consolidated Contractors Co.
It is worth noting that the planned project will cover 634,000 square metres of development around a man-made lagoon, and will be delivered in 28 months according to the companies.
