(MENAFN) Jordan’s Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Jafar Hassan, stated that the ministry inked a USD29.80 million soft loan deal with the French government, reported Xinhua News citing Petra news agency.
Hassan added that the loan has a grace period of 6 years and the amount will be paid over a period of 15 years.
He said that Jordan, the world’s fourth poorest country in terms of water, will use the loan to shore up water projects in the northern governorates of the Kingdom.
Furthermore, the amount will support projects to repair water networks and water pumps in the northern governorates.
