Jordan sets up USD28mn new Kufranjah dam project

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Fund Dev. (ADFD) has proclaimed the completion of the Kufranjah Dam, situated north of Jordan’s capital Amman with a capacity of 7.8mn cu m of water.

In addition, the USD28mn Kufranjah Dam, funded by the UAE government and managed by ADFD in Jordan was opened by King Abdullah II of Jordan.

Moreover, the project is in line with framework of the 2013 UAE government contribution of USD1.25bn to the Gulf Development Fund.

The new dam plans to augment the nation’s irrigation and drinking water resources and more develop the fertile town of Ajloun.
