(MENAFN) The department of statistics announced that by the end of the preceding month, the consumer price index increased by 6.4 percent, according to The Jordan Times.
As a result of fuel, fruit and vegetable prices hike, in addition to transport services, a computed figure came out by the time that other goods’ prices declined.
By the beginning of the current year, fuel and lighting prices were boosted by 24.2 percent. Transport services also increased 14.7 percent, while 6.9 percent for meat and poultry. Vegetables prices reached a 14 percent rise. Raise also included rents to reach 3.4 percent.
Tobacco and cigarettes, hygiene products, cereals, oil and fat are all commodities that prices declined as follows respectively: 8.8 percent, 2.3 percent, 1.4 percent, 1.1 percent.
