08 Mar 2016

(MENAFN) Jordan’s tourism revenues dropped USD 309.49mn in 2015 due to local instability, while the tourism receipts dropped from USD 4.36bn in 2014 to USD 4.05bn last year.

Moreover, the kingdom also saw a decline in the number of overnight tourists by more than 226,000 from 3.98mn to 3.76mn, which was 4.8mn in 2015.

However, as tourism receipts fell down, Jordanian’s external spending on tourism, medication and education increased by 1.6 percent in 2015 to USD 1.15mn.

Visitors from KSA topped the list of tourists to the kingdom last year, despite a 16.4 percent fall over the year before, which was 883,000 visitors.
