Jordan’s Zarqa exports hit USD822m in Jan-Nov

(MENAFN) The Jordanian city of Zarqa has registered a 2.7 percent jump in the industrial products’ exports over the first 11 months to hit USD822 million as opposed to 2014’s same period.

Accordingly, the leather industry and garments took the 1st place with outbound shipments totaling USD481 million, logging 15 percent increase from last year’s corresponding timeframe.

The 2nd place was taken by agricultural and animal products with an overall USD107 million, reflecting a 2.4 percent rise, while plastics acquired the 3rd spot touching a total of USD62 million.

Top destinations for the exports were regional Arab countries, Asian and some markets in Europe, whereas North American markets received 55.6 percent of total shipments with USD456 million.
