(MENAFN) The Industrial exports from the Governorate of Zarqa, Jordan, reached a total of USD341 million in the first five months of the year, marking a slight 0.7 percent decline, The Jordan Times reported.
The President of Zarqa’s Chamber of Industry said that the slump is attributed to lower exports to Iraq by 18 percent, to Syria by 55 per cent and to Palestinian territories by 23 percent.
Exports to North America represented 54.4 percent of the total sum. Exports to Arab countries, however, constituted a total of USD116 million, which is equivalent to 34.1 percent.
