(MENAFN) Dubai-based constructor Kele Contracting won a contract to build a hotel next to Nakheel’s Dragon Mart complex in Dubai, Arabian Business reported.

Kele Contracting, a joint venture between Australia’s Kele International Holdings and Dubai’s ENSHAA, said the hotel is part of the 177,000 sqm Dragon Mart Phase 2 development.

Dragon Mart is a retail complex consisting of retail outlets, a hypermarket, cinema, children’s entertainment area, gym and food and beverage venues, and is open for traders in the wholesale and retail business.

The 246-room three-star hotel will be nine-storey high and is scheduled to be completed in 13 months, Kele added.

Under the contract terms, Kele will be responsible for the full scope of the work on the project and delivering the project.

Earlier this year, Nakheel awarded a contract to Kele to build a modern multi-storey car parking facility for Dragon Mart to cater for the increasing number of shoppers and visitors at the centre.

The completion of Phase 2 will bring the total size of the Dragon Mart complex to 335,000 sqm.
