(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Terminals (ADT), manager and operator of Khalifa Port Terminal (KPCT), said that its volume reached 1.13 million TEUs (Twenty-foot equivalent unit containers) in 2014, marking a 26 percent annual growth, Gulf News reported.
“2014 had been the busiest year at Khalifa Port Container Terminal and the fifth straight year that our compound year-on-year growth has risen more than 20 per cent,” ADT’s Chief Executive Officer, said in a statement.
He added that once the company is pleased with this progress and everything it has achieved, it continues working on more expansion plans and further automation of our operations in 2015.
The port operator confirmed that it attributes its 20 percent plus annual growth over the past five years to the strong relationships with the shipping industry and the trade community.
