KSA government acquires 5,800 properties for Grand Mosque expansion

(MENAFN) The Saudi government acquired 5,800 properties for USD20 billion for the expansion of the Grand Mosque in Makkah, Arabian Business reported.

The first phase of the expansion included the removal of 1,150 properties, and the second stage also included the removal of an additional 1,150 buildings.

The Grand Mosque, Islam”s holiest site, is undergoing its largest ever expansion at a cost of USD21.3 billion, to increase its capacity to 2 million pilgrims.
