(MENAFN) Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced that it has awarded South Korea’s Daelim Industrial a USD516-million contract, reported Gulf Daily News.
According to KNPC spokesman, Mohammad Al Ajmi, the contract is related to repair and expansion of sulphur processing facilities at Mina Al Ahmadi refinery.
He added that the aim of the project is to boost the emirate’s sulphur production to 2 million tons per year, from 850,000 tons.
It is worth noting that the South Korean firm will carry out all processes from design, engineering, and construction to test run, in addition to installing new equipment.
