(MENAFN) Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior Migration General Department stated that in 2011, the number of expatriates in the country dropped by 19 percent, reported Arabian Business.
The department said that more than half of expatriates are recruited in the country’s private sector.
Moreover, at the current time, around 2.16 million foreigners from 23 countries are living in the Gulf state.
It is worth ntoing that Kuwait is cracking down illegal immigrants and workers, arresting more than 700 foreign workers recently for violating laws and suspected involvement in illegal businesses.
