(MENAFN) Kuwait’s Ambassador to Washington, Sheikh Salem Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, stated that his country has deposited USD50 million in the World Bank’s Palestinian Reform and Development Program (PRDP) trust fund, reported Arabian Business.
Al-Sabah said that since 2008, the emirate has contributed USD180 million to the multi-donor trust fund, which was founded to ensure the social and economic well being of Palestine’s citizens.
The amount will help support pressing budgetary requirements facing the Palestinian Authority on education, healthcare and other crucial social services.
It is worth noting that other governments contribute regularly to the fund, including Australia, France, Norway, and the UK.
