Kuwaiti govt increases salaries by 25%

(MENAFN) In a bid to counter the effect of increasing inflation on citizens, the Kuwaiti government stated that it would increase governmental salaries by a quarter, reported KUNA.

In addition, the government stated that retirees would benefit from a 12.5 percent increase in salaries.

On the other hand and in order to ensure a positive outcome from this decision, the commerce ministry undersecretary Abdelaziz Al-Khaldi said that trade controllers were instructed to monitor markets closely to ensure that commodity prices remain fixed.
