(MENAFN) The Gulf railway project that links Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member countries will be by 2018, as stated by officials. Its overall cost ads up to USD15.4 billion, and will reach 2,177 km in length.
The railway Links Kuwait city through GCC countries all the way to Oman’s capital Muscat, the passenger trains’ speed will be 220 km/hour, while cargo trains will be between 80-120 220 km/hour.
It will use diesel to generate power, and is set to be the first of its kind in the gulf region, with a large positive impact on the included countries, let alone strengthening its political ties.
