Lebanon gets USD200mn from World Bank to upgrade roads

(MENAFN) The World Bank proclaimed that it has earmarked USD200mn for preparing Lebanon’s unsafe roads.

Accordingly, the funds will be used to repair almost 500 kilometers of roads in the first phase of a broader government plan to revamp its road sector.

On the other hand, the World Bank would help Lebanon continue to provide basic services both to citizens and to Syrian refugees in the nation.

Moreover, Lebanon is home to almost 1.2mn Syrian refugees, the equivalent of a quarter of its own population.
