Lebanon’s budget deficit grows to 27pct of spending

(MENAFN) Lebanon’s budget deficit increased in August this year to 26.8pct of spending from 23.14 percent in the same period of 2015.

Moreover, total government incomes reached LL10.36tr, an increase of 4.13 percent, whereas spending reached LL14.17tr, recording a rise of 9.45pct.

Additionally, telecom profits, involving cellular and landline networks, increased to 5.49 percent to reach LL1.202tr.

On the other hand, government expenditures were higher with the exception of the allocations to state-owned Electricite du Liban.
