Lexus’ ME sales up 20percent in H1

(MENAFN) Lexus announced selling 21.598 units in the Middle East in the January-June period, a growth by 20 percent compared to the same period last year, Gulf News reported.

The Lexus IS, a sedan, sold 1.837 cars in the cited period, increasing 478 percent over the same period in 2013. The model, which has a sporty design, usually contributes 15 percent of Lexus’ volume sales in the UAE.

Meanwhile, the Lexus GX SUV sold 1.332 units, up 364 percent and the LX model range, which includes the Supercharged LX 570, saw a 12 percent rise in sales with 9.178 units being sold.

“Lexus is constantly pushing boundaries of automotive technology to develop vehicles exhibiting a blend of luxury and performance. This has been a driving force behind our growth in the region,” the company said.
