Louvre Abu Dhabi’s dome to be completed by 2014

(MENAFN) Tourism Development and Investment Company’s managing director, Mubarak Hamad Al Muhairi, announced that construction of the dome museum in Louvre Abu Dhabi is underway, reported Arabian Business.

The 7,000 ton dome that will house 9,200 square meters of art galleries will be finished by late 2014.

Construction will be led by Arabtec, along with Spanish Constructora San Jose SA and Abu Dhabi’s Oger.

Architect Jean Nouvel’s winning design, will allow the penetrating sunlight to give a downpour effect.
