(MENAFN) UAE’s conglomerate giant Majid Al Futtaim Group (MAF) is set to open its first shopping mall in Lebanon next year, Arabian Business reported.
The development works for the mall started in September 2009 and is scheduled completion for early 2013.
Waddah El Solh, country head for the Levant region at MAF Properties, said the USD300 million Beirut City Centre would create 2,500 temporary construction jobs. MAF said the mall will create 1,200 jobs.
The mall is located in the capital’s Hazmieh district on the Damascus-Beirut road, will house a total of 200 stores over three levels and 40 international food and beverage outlets, in addition a VOX Cinemas multiplex and a Magic Planet family entertainment centre.
It will also host the first Carrefour hypermarket in Lebanon, occupying a 13,000 sqm area, as well as an open-air, rooftop dining area.
