M&As in MENA region hit USD14.6b in Q1

(MENAFN) Ernst & Young’s MENA Mergers & Acquisitions update shows that disclosed mergers and acquisitions (M&As) in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region hit a total of USD14.6 billion in the first quarter of the current year, thus doubling in size compared to the same quarter a year ago, reported Arab News.

Despite the increase, the total number of M&As went down from 101 reported last year to 98.

The UAE topped the region in terms of total value of disclosed domestic deals, comprising approximately 54 percent, followed by Qatar also at 21 percent.
