(MENAFN) According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Middle East carriers recorded an increase by 12.9 percent in cargo demand in November, while capacity rose 17.1 percent, Gulf News reported.
“Trade has been increasing with Middle East economies but a large part of the airlines business is due to their success at attracting air freight to go through Middle East hubs,” IATA said.
IATA said that the Middle East airlines have attributed for the 38 percent increase in demand in the 12 months to November, as well as contributing to an over 64 percent increase in global freight capacity over the same period.
