ME carriers need USD550 b in next 20 years

(MENAFN) Forecasts released by Boeing show that Middle East airlines are expected to spend USD550 billion on purchasing new planes in the next two decades, Arabian Business reported.

Boeing said that airlines in the Middle East will need 2,610 new jets to meet the increasing number of passengers.

The aircraft manufacturer said that, between 2011 and 2012, orders by Middle East carriers for US planes were worth USD6.4 billion.

Boeing said that carriers worldwide are expected to spend USD4.8 trillion on commercial planes in the next two decades.
