ME carriers’ Nov passenger traffic up 10.5%

(MENAFN) The International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) director general and CEO, Tony Tyler, stated that in November 2012, carriers in the Middle East posted a 10.5-percent gain in passenger traffic from a year earlier, reported Arabian Business.

Tyler said that the load factor dipped by 0.5 percent to 73.5 percent as capacity rose by 11.2 percent.

Freight volume jumped by 16 percent in November, with capacity rising by 6.1 percent, whereas the load factor grew 4 percent, reaching 46.7 percent.

In terms of passengers’ volume, Middle East airlines ranked as the second best performers in November after those of Latin America.
