ME carriers to acquire 2,370 new planes by 2031: Boeing

(MENAFN) Boeing Commercial Airplanes’ vice president of marketing, Randy Tinseth, stated that by the end of 2031, carriers in the Middle East would buy 2,370 new aircraft, reported Arab News.
Tinseth said that the value of the planes is around USD470 billion.
He added that 31 percent of the planes would replace current fleet assets; and 69 percent of the demand will be driven by the fast growth of air travel in the region.
Moreover, the region’s order books will be dominated by long-range, twin-aisle aircraft, including the Boeing 777 and 787 Dreamliner.
At the current time, carriers in the region have a backlog of 882 aircraft, of which 62 percent are long-haul, twin-aisle and large planes.
Twin-aisle planes, including the Boeing 777 and 787, will comprise 46 percent of the Middle East’s new airplane deliveries until 2031, compared with 23 percent worldwide.
On the other hand, single-aisle aircraft, including the Boeing 737, will represent 45 percent of regional deliveries throughout 2031, whereas large planes, including the Boeing 747, will comprise 8 percent of forecasted demand and regional jets will comprise 1 percent of the demand.
