(MENAFN) Monster Employment Index Middle East grew 21 percent from a year earlier in August, a sign that the job market is recovering, reported Khaleej Times.
The index, a monthly measure of online job posting activity in the region based on a real-time review of tens of thousands of employer job opportunities collected from a large representative selection of career Websites and online job listings, fell 2 percent month-on-month.
The index showed that online jobs in the UAE recorded a 16-percent growth, driven by advertising, market research, public relations, media and entertainment, with hospitality and travel leading in annual growth among the occupation groups within the country.
It is worth noting that a safe haven, a place to go on vacation and to spend whatever consumer dollars people have are the main factors that people across the Arab World have been searching for since the outbreak of the Arab Spring, and the UAE provided all these elements, which was strongly reflected in the online jobs growth.
