(MENAFN) The number of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) in the MENA region increased by 6 percent in 2014 to 468 deals, improving from 442 deals in 2013, Emirates 24/7 reported.
Disclosed deal economic value faced an 11 percent decrease from USD50.7 billion in 2013, to USD44.9 billion in 2014.
The MENA M&A market ended strongly in the last quarter of 2014, with the highest 150 deals valued at USD16.2 billion.
In comparison with the same quarter in 2013, the fourth quarter announced deals with doubled value and increased in number by 26 percent.
