(MENAFN) The Intl’ Air Transport Association (IATA) viewed cargo volumes measured in freight ton kilometers (FTKs) spread 2.2 percent in 2015 compared to 2014.
Furthermore, Middle Eastern carriers rose 4.0 percent in Dec and for 2015 in whole the region expanded 11.3 percent compared to 2014, while the FLF was 42.8 percent.
However, airfreight volumes started a decline that continued over 2015, until some developments to world trade trailed a modest pick-up late in the year.
“2015 was another very difficult year for air cargo. Growth has slowed and revenue is falling. In 2011 air cargo revenue peaked at USD 67bn,” said IATA’s CEO.
