06 May 2013

(MENAFN) The International Air Transport Association posted statistics indicating that Middle East carriers witnessed a 15.6-percent increase in passenger numbers last march compared to last year, reported Arabian Business.

The Middle East carriers took on 20 percent of global travel demand for the last six months, despite the small 13.4 percent market share they occupy.

A 10.5-percent rise in cargo volumes last march, led to a boost in passenger numbers, as international business deals grow.

Air travel is expected to thrive as business confidence remains on the rise, specifically in emerging markets.
