(MENAFN) Morocco is constructing one of the world’s largest solar power plants in a project funded by the EU.
The first phase of the Noor plant near the town of Quarzazate contrasts focused on tiny roof-top solar panels to bring power to control rural homes.
Moreover, the country also aims to get 52 percent of its elect from clean energy such as wind and solar by 2030, up from 28 percent recently.
The project will cost USD2.45bn and produce 580MW, enough power for a city of almost 2mn people.
