Morocco’s handicraft products exports grow by 16pct

(MENAFN) Exports of handicraft products recorded in 2016 posted an increase of 16 percent, a first in over fifteen years.

Meanwhile, the performance, which follows the one posted in 2014 at 14 percent and 2015 at 6pct, shows that efforts of market diversification have yielded their fruits.

Moreover, Europe remains the major client of the Moroccan handicraft products, trailed by the United States.

In addition, traditional clothing was very coveted by foreign clients, while carpets and pottery, made mainly in the cities of Marrakesh and Casablanca.
