Morocco’s Jan-May trade grows 7.7 percent

(MENAFN) Morocco’s trade deficit increased 7.7 percent to USD6.97bn in the first five months of this year, compared with the same period of 2015.

On the other hand, equipment imports rose by 19.8 percent to USD4.39bn, while auto imports were 49.4 percent higher.

Moreover, wheat imports also jumped as bad weather affected the regional harvest this year, 16.8 percent up from a year earlier.

In addition, whole exports increased 2 percent from a year earlier to USD9.60bn, led by a 15 percent increase in auto exports.
