Non-oil trade at Jebel Ali Free Zone grows by USD80.2bn

(MENAFN) Non-oil trade at Jebel Ali Free Zone increased 17 percent to USD80.2bn or an equivalent 27.9mn tons last year, from 23.9mn tons a year earlier.

Meanwhile, China kept its position as the free zone’s main player with USD11.3bn worth of non-oil goods, equipment and commodities being shipped in through the Jebel Ali port.

Additionally, machinery, elects and electrical goods reached almost half of the whole trade at Dubai’s major trade and logistics hub.

Last year, trade with Asia Pacific region reached USD32.4bn; with the Mideast at USD27.2bn; the European continent at USD9.9bn and Africa at USD5bn.
