(MENAFN) Oil production from Iraq’s southern fields has increased despite work hindering full exports from the country, The Peninsula Qatar reported.
Following a pipeline repair, oil export terminals in the south are receiving 2.33 million barrels per day (bpd).
Although flow from the southern fields returned to normal following the repair, export capacity at the southern terminal is only at 1.7 million bpd due to planned work shutting two of its four berths.
Security issues and infrastructure problems caused the country’s oil sector to slow down this year after a continuous revival that started in 2010.
