Oil Projects Company � SCOP rewards Technip a contract

(MENAFN) Oil Projects Company ” SCOP favored Technip a management consultancy services contract for the engineering, procurement and construction phase of the Karbala refinery, Iraq, according to Arabian Oil and Gas news.

The scope of work aims to cover two phases: the first will cover evaluation and contracts finalization with the engineering, procurement and construction contractors, bids clarification, and enquiries for the EPC contract. The second will cover the engineering, procurement and construction contract execution overall management.

United Kingdom’s Technip”s operating center in Milton Keynes will start working on the first phase of the project, which is scheduled to be completed in the second half of 2013.

Technip”s Senior Vice President for PMC, Riccardo Moizo, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded this project by SCOP and to participate in developing and enhancing Iraq”s refinery capabilities. This is a significant contract for Technip”s newly created PMC business unit and we believe it will open up opportunities in the near future.”
