Oman Air has no plans to set up a low-cost carrier

24 Sep 2014

(MENAFN) Oman Air, the Sultanate’s national carrier, announced it is not planning to set up a low cost or budget airline, Times of Oman reported.

Meanwhile, the airliner said it has started operation between Muscat and Duqm and will fly to Sohar, as well as launching a one-of-its-kind program “Coast to Coast, across the Arabian Sea”, a combination of tour packages combining Muscat and the south Indian state of Kerala.

The carrier said that Oman Air is working on making its contribution to the Sultanate’s expanding transport projects, including railways and expressways, which is expected to contribute over USD 1.03 billion to the country by creating jobs, increasing tourist inflow and increasing business activities like travel agency business.
