(MENAFN) Oman Air’s CEO, Wayne Pearce, stated that the carrier has inked a joint venture freighter operation deal with DHL, reported Times of Oman.
Pearce said that the national carrier’s cargo unit, Oman Air Cargo, has inked an exclusive block space deal with DHL for exploiting the latter’s capacity on the Muscat-Dubai route
He added that the deal will improve the cargo capacity, as it enables Oman Air to accept main deck cargo.
Meanwhile, Middle East & Africa vice-president DHL, Malcolm Macbeth, noted that the Boeing 757-200 PCF will at first operate a once weekly schedule into Muscat.
It is worth noting that Oman Air Cargo is considering wide-body capacity opportunities through agreements with other operators and carriers as part of the company’s expansion plan, according to Pearce.
