(MENAFN) Oman’s Minister of Oil and Gas, Dr. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Rumhy, announced that the Sultanate has discovered a new gas field, reported Qatar News Agency.
Al-Rumhy said that the new finding is located in the Northern part of Petroleum Development Oman’s (PDO) concession area.
The site has estimated in-place volumes of nearly 2.9 trillion cubic feet (tcf) of gas, in addition to 115 million barrels of condensate.
It is worth noting that exploratory drilling was carried out in 2012, at depths of up to 5,000 meter.
