Oman, Iran bilateral trade hits USD880.53m

(MENAFN) Oman’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that the value of the bilateral trade between the Sultanate and Iran has reached USD880.53 million in 2013 compared with USD502.20 registered in trade in 2012, Times of Oman reported.

The Ministry said that Oman’s imports from Iran has reached USD558.74 million in 2013, increasing by 172.2 percent compared with 2012 when the value of imports from Iran to Oman was USD205.25 million, while the Omani exports to Iran have totaled USD321.77 million in 2013, registering an increase of 8.4 percent in comparison with USD296.95 million in 2012.

The Ministry said that both countries are currently holding discussions on implementation of some previously signed agreements between the two sides, including an agreement on customs cooperation, as well as discussing the signed agreement between them for the purchase of around USD60 billion worth of natural gas from Iran in the next 25 years.
