Oman raises oil exports to China by 26% in Jan-Feb

(MENAFN) Oman’s Ministry of National Economy announced that in 2013’s first 2 months, the country’s oil exports to China jumped by around 26 percent to 28.6 million barrels from 22.7 million barrels in 2012’s same period, reported Emirates 24/7.

The ministry noted that the Asian country kept its position as the world’s largest customer for Oman crude, importing over 50 percent of the Sultanate’s total oil exports in the period, which reached 49 million barrels.

Also in the 2-month period, Oman oil exports to Taiwan soared by 163 percent to almost 6 million barrels, compared with 2.3 million barrels a year before.

However, exports to Japan fell by 23 percent to 4.97 million barrels from 6.46 million barrels in 2012’s same period, while oil exports to Singapore declined by 15.1 percent and those to Thailand dipped by 0.2 percent.
