(MENAFN) Oman’s well reputed Research and development agency, The Research Council (TRC), has taken the responsibility to fund research studies that will help stimulus investment in energy efficient residential buildings in the Sultanate.
Ultimately as the agency sees it, enhancements in the energy efficiency of constructions will eventually produce substantial savings in energy consumption, therefore mitigating energy demand growth.
On a broader scale, in developing countries including Oman, high energy consumption in buildings is mostly credited to the lack of local energy standards and energy-efficiency programs, as stressed by a project manager in the agency.
Based on TRC latest announcement, among the initiatives being weighed for the agency’s funding support is a new National Study for Energy Efficiency Monitoring, Analysis and Modeling of Residential Buildings.
