Oman to get OMR2b from selling shares of state-owned firms

(MENAFN) Oman government predicts to get OMR2bn from divesting stakes in state-owned firms.

Accordingly, the firms that are planning to raise fund amid initial public offerings include Mining Dev. Oman and elect distribution firm.

The main plan for Mining Dev. Oman is to float the shares in the second half of this year and to see the share offer in Q1 of 2017.

However, the market capitalization of Muscat Securities Market is only 30 percent of the country”s GDP, which is against an average of 65 percent on other GCC States.
