Oman to invest USD 50mn in Chinese aviation firm

(MENAFN) Oman Investment Fund confirmed to buy USD 50mn in the initial public offering BOC Aviation, the aircraft unit of Bank of China.

Additionally, BOC Aviation attracted investors like Boeing and the Chinese sovereign wealth fund in order to buy shares in its USD 1.1bn initial public.

Meanwhile, Boeing committed USD 30mn, and Chinese billionaire Guo Guangchangs’ Fosun Intl’ will purchase USD 35mn of shares.

Accordingly, aviation is a growth sector, therefore they are raising capital to fund expansion and going public is a way to spread risks.
