(MENAFN) Oman will help households to generate elect with solar panels and feed it into the national grid, as stated the Authority of Electricity Regulation.
However, despite low oil prices, the Omani government is looking for saving money, involving a cut in electricity subsidies for commercial users.
Accordingly, the authority planned to have a device in place by mid-year for households to produce power using solar roofing panels.
The program will basically focus on residential units, which will be extended to commercial units; while it seeks distributed power generation.
